Places of Tourist Attractions in Arunachal Pradesh

A land with breathtaking scenery, charming tribal folk, rarest & most natural wildlife, amazing ancient ruins – all this sums up to unceasingly fascinating Arunachal Pradesh has everything which attracts the tourists.

This mesmerizing state is renowned for its picturesque snow-clad peaks, lofty mountains, deep gorges, innumerable streams, swift rivers and verdant valleys. River rafting, mountaineering, angling, trekking, hiking, snow skiing, hang gliding, etc. are major tourist attractions of magical Arunachal Pradesh.

There is incredible range of flora and fauna besides rich and varied wildlife. Along mighty rivers oozing out of Himalayas to the tropical plains of Brahmaputra Valley, there are tropical evergreen forest in the foothills and coniferous on high altitudes. There are also alpines, rhododendrons, bamboos and cactus in abundance. Wildlife not only covers Elephants, leopards and tigers but also varieties of civets, browed gibbon, Himalayan black bear, sloth bear, red Panda and musk deer.

More than 4-6 centuries old Parashuram kund and Tawang monastery are places of religious importance and widely acclaimed tourists spots. Parashuram kund is the place where Saint Parashuram washed away his sins as per mythology. Bhismaknagar and Malinithan are famous ancient ruins of temples, besides eight wildlife sanctuaries, two national parks and a biosphere reserve form important tourist attractions. Namdapha National Park is home to the rare Hoolock gibbon and a tiger reserve; which covers a vast area from snow clad mountains to valleys and is the most famous tourist spot.

The Buddhist monastery in Bomdila is also a famous tourist attraction known for its snow capped Himalayan peaks and Buddhist Gompas besides its apple orchards and artistic people. Itanagar is famous for its excavated ruins of the historical Ita Fort. Itanagar can be called as mini India, as people from all over the country, live here in harmony. Famous attractions of Itanagar are Gyaker Sinyi and the Ganga Lake.
